The Associate Accountant (Lease) position is responsible for completing payments to landlords by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position prepares and reports percentage rent calculations for all landlords and ensures all payments are made on a timely basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes, verifies, and reconciles invoices from landlords and ensures all payments are made on a timely basis.
  • Provides customer service to landlords, Operations, vendors, and others in the department, responding to landlord and vendor requests for information, explaining P&Ls to Operators, and assisting the Lease Accountant with lease-related audits.
  • Enters and prepares payment of landlord and vendor invoices (utilities and miscellaneous invoices).
  • Assists in month end close activity, preparing and processing uploads and journal entries and P&L scrubs. Verifies monthly statements and transactions to verify landlord accounts.
  • Participates in special projects and proactively seeks to improve lease processes.
  • May assist manager in training other Lease associates
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with coursework in Accounting required
  • Minimum one to two years of related experience, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment
  • Successful completion of annual store training
