Senior Technical Marketing Engineer

The VM-Series Cloud Security team is responsible for building products that protect data, workloads, and infrastructure for some of the largest enterprise customers in the world. We help the customers in their journey to the public and private cloud by ensuring they have the best in class protection.
This person will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Marketing and will be responsible for developing and executing Palo Alto Networks plan for outbound technical communication, including product best practices, competitive reviews, demo environments, and ownership of product betas.
This is a critical role within the company and one where the right person can have significant impact.
Develop, constantly refine, and execute the technical marketing plan.
Be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and delivery of effective technical tools, whitepapers, and technical training for sales, customers, and partners.
Lead the competitive research and testing to identify key competitive advantages of our product lines and deliver them to sales, customers, and partners.
Be a key technical evangelist for Palo Alto Networks, speaking at seminars, conferences, customer briefings, and with other groups within the company.
Provide technical and competitive feedback to the product management and engineering teams on the features on the roadmap.
BS/BA in a computer-related field or equivalent experience required
3+ years of experience as a technical marketing engineer, preferably for networking or security products.
Experience with cloud & hybrid technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare and Containers is highly desired.
Experience with scripting languages such as python and CFT, terraform is highly desired.
Eagerness to learn new technologies, experiment with products and collaborate cross-functionally.
Strong customer advocacy skills and experience, ability to work in difficult customer situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills and tradeshow experience.
Work towards getting things done, with strong initiative and sense of ownership.
Requires some travel
