Your Career
Reporting to the Senior Director of Worldwide SE Technical Enablement, the Manager of SE Leadership Enablement is part of the Worldwide SE Organization and is responsible for developing and running programs and tools which contribute to educating and enabling all SE Managers and SE Directors.
All candidates are expected to have recent relevant Management, Systems Engineering, and training experience, with a solid knowledge of Blended Learning teaching tools and methods. This role is responsible for delivering these services across all Systems Engineering Leadership roles and territories.
As Palo Alto Networks continues to grow, we need leaders in our SE organization who know all the ins and outs of being an effective leader. As a manager in the organization, wouldn’t it be great to be trained on the specifics of your company? This role is designed to impart the wisdom of experienced leaders on topics like “where to find information” and “how to hold a difficult conversation”. In addition to ensuring we have the best leaders, we also need to solicit and take action on their feedback. This role is also responsible for creating and executing SE/SEM Advisory Boards which will engage with the SE/SEM community to ensure we are listening to and taking action on their feedback.
Your Impact
Content Training Development and Delivery
Curate from multiple sources to create learning paths specifically for SEMs
Host online, live instructor led, hands on activities targeted for SEMs
Recruit from, and collaborate with current SE Leaders to develop new materials and programs
Assemble and coordinate teams which include SEMs, SEDs, SEVPs, SEs and others to provide guidance for program definitions and success criteria.
Intra-team Collaboration and Resourcing
Ensure alignment of resource allocation with key technical sales and revenue initiatives
Leverage data and metrics to correlate program participation to performance outcomes, making course corrections as needed to ensure desired results are achieved
Drive application internal process knowledge, skills, and best practices to increase productivity
Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of sales force
Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts to contribute to the design and maintenance of ongoing programs and training
Develop and maintain productivity assessments and reporting for SE leadership
Qualifications
Your Experience
Relevant field sales experience
Experience as an instructor and as a Manager; especially a Systems Engineer Manager.
Experience with tools regularly employed in the course of performing as an SE
Experience with complex technical selling processes
Understand the cybersecurity market and relevant business drivers
Experience with complex security sales cycles: portfolio or platform offerings
Skilled in enabling teams to sell broadly into accounts, access and aggregate disparate technology owners, gain consensus with diverse stakeholders, etc.
Professional training and enablement experience in a technology sales environment
Success with facilitating and/or delivering technical training
Ability to apply technical differentiators and insights to support teams in competitive positioning with customers
Highly motivated, energetic, collaborative, self-starter who demonstrates leadership, adaptability, flexibility and integrity
Mentoring/Coaching and Leadership Development Experience
Ability to travel up to 30% as needed
