Senior Application Security Engineer

We are fanatics about uptime and building a great product at PagerDuty. Startups, Fortune 100 companies, and everything in between rely on us to alert them when there are problems, and then help them figure out how to make the problem go away. We are looking for a stellar Security Engineer that is excited about solving security problems via automation, wants to protect our customers, and help all of our engineers write secure code.

PagerDuty is deployed across multiple cloud providers and multiple regions and multiple servers and multiple networks and across multiple services... you get the idea. Distributed systems is part of our DNA for building a highly available and reliable service, but it also introduces challenges for how to do security at scale without locking everything down.

How You Contribute to Our Vision

  • Define and build out the Security Vision and Roadmap for PagerDuty. You will help all of our engineering teams figure out how to write secure code and how we can best protect our customers.
  • Build out application security frameworks that hook into our continuous integration systems, similar to our network security monitoring. This position requires the ability to write automation software.
  • Figure out how to secure our highly distributed service.
  • Working with other engineers across the company to figure out where our biggest areas for risk are and help decide what needs to be worked on.
  • Internal white hat testing.
  • Collecting and setting up monitoring on security metrics.

About You

  • The ability to solve security problems without saying "No"
  • Strong understanding of Application Security
