Sr. Plant Controller

Job Description:

  • Active member of plant leadership team that drives operational results
  • Applies accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to the solution of problems.
  • Provides technical advice and services to operating managers, interpreting accounting reports and statements
  • Identifies problem areas
  • Evaluates complete assignments for conformance with applicable policies, regulations, and tax laws
  • Responsible for the accounting treatment of financial transactions
  • Recommends solutions to complex problems
  • Provides interpretation of technical accounting pronouncements
  • Responsible for coordinating separate or specialized accounting treatment and reporting (e.g., cost accounting using standard cost, process cost, and financial statements & reports) for different senior management and/or external customers
  • Ensures controls are in place and SOX requirements are met
  • Complete month-end closing process (journal entries, etc.)
  • Maintain all necessary documentation for job and system processes
  • Development of annual financial operating plans through the use of financial modeling and analysis
  • Complete monthly forecasts and full year forecast as required
  • Support/Lead financial projects as assigned
  • Complete ad hoc financial modeling and analysis as required for management
  • Ensure integrity of system reports to validate accuracy of financial results
  • Special project/assignments
  • Potential travel 25%


  • BA/BS in finance or accounting and 4-7 years of related experience.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrate usage or understanding of manufacturing standard costing and/or standard costing models
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP SAP software is preferred
  • Ability to perform complex analysis utilizing Excel
  • Solid communication skills at all levels within an organization
  • Must have strong analytical skills and direct experience with financial modeling
  • Ability to effectively interact with operating units and other departments
  • Ability to identify and report problems and assist in their resolution
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills requirement
  • Flexible schedule, especially around critical reporting times
