Night Shift Printing Supervisor - 7 PM to 7 AM

This position is for Pactiv, a company of Reynolds Group Holding Inc.


  • Review and execute daily production schedules.
  • Maintain and execute proper make –ready and start up procedures.
  • Pay special attention to and approve job jackets for size, style, color, quantity and special printing/cutting requirements.
  • Work with department supervisors and Unit Manager to monitor and use labor effectively to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot any operations or production problem as necessary, identifying equipment malfunctions and/or maintenance service requirements and taking corrective action to resolve.
  • Maintain complete records of shift operations (i.e. equipment performance, supplies used, inventory levels, etc.) and maintenance activity.
  • Train and supervise employees in safe and efficient work methods on department machinery to ensure consistently reliable operational efficiency.
  • Maintain specified efficiencies, scrap limits and minimum product returns for shift operation.
  • Develop, implement and maintain departmental Standard Work Instruction Sheets.
  • Motivate, develop and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Utilize the SAP system to maintain an accurate account of all incoming and outgoing products.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and Tier II meetings.
  • Insure housekeeping/safety standards are maintained in all Printer/Cutter areas.
  • Enforce plant and departmental rules and regulations.
  • Lead weekly 5S efforts, including audits and corrective actions.
  • Effectively communicate personnel, equipment and production related issues to the Unit Manager.
  • Ability and willingness to operate machinery as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor. 


  • High School Diploma or General Education equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably in the paper or plastics industry.
  • Previous experience supervising a team of 17 to 20 hourly employees.
  • Previous machine operation experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn SAP operating system.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to provide consistent leadership, direction, expectations and discipline.
  • Ability to set high expectations while continuing to motivate employees to excel.
  • Capability to remain rational and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
