This position is for Pactiv, a company of Reynolds Group Holding Inc. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Initiate/Develop/Manage automation programs across the company’s entire manufacturing and warehousing footprint.
  • Provides expert consultation in multiple areas for the design, development and implementation of automated equipment and systems.
  • Develops breakthrough solutions to improve the efficiency of end of line operations through the application of automation.
  • Manages and mentors 4+ direct reports, as well as numerous contractors.
  • Areas of automation include, but are not limited to, product counting/bagging, case packing, palletizing, product conveying.
  • Develops process/equipment specifications.
  • Perform vetting analysis for all projects, includes financial, operational and technical analysis.
  • Develops process methods and controls to meet quality standards.
  • Develops, writes, implements, submits and/or presents various technical reports or CARs in support of cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee Capital management for all automation programs/projects.
  • Prepare standard work and training protocol for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and systems installed.
  • Responsible for coordinating and performing 2P’s and FMEA for all concepts and final designs.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical equipment and process issues and provides technical leadership and training to resolve same.
  • Make presentations (verbal and written) to technical manufacturing, and business leadership to sell ideas and report on projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required with master’s preferred.
  • Typically has 15+ years of applicable experience in automation.
  • Demonstrated application of complex concepts, practices and procedures within particular engineering field.
  • Has fundamental understanding of first principles required in the design and manufacture automation systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and motivational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities.
  • Process/project engineering experience.
  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal, required.
  • Recognized as a technical leader and key resource.
  • Up to 50% Travel.
