Production Technician

Location: Portland / Gresham, Oregon – United States

Shift: 12 hour rotating shifts / rotates days to nights every 6 weeks

The Owens Corning Foam Insulation plant in Gresham, Oregon is looking for technicians to run the various downstream pieces of equipment, perform quality checks, and monitor process. This plant produces extruded polystyrene foam insulation for various applications.

We need people who are all about making a difference at work and making things better day by day. Successful candidates must demonstrate both the ability to work in self-directed teams, with little to no supervision, as well as demonstrate the ability to drive results in a team environment.

This is shift work in a plant that aims to run 24/7 365 days a year which requires teams to work weekends and holidays. We work a 12 hour day from 5:45 am/pm – 6 am/pm and teams rotate days to nights every six weeks. The work rotation schedule allows for a three day weekend every other weekend and days off during the week as well.

The Owens Corning Gresham Foam Insulation plant is offering extremely competitive wages, an incentive award (bonus) program, and a robust benefits package including health and wellness benefits and a 401(k) matching program. In addition, we are seeking individuals interested in advancement opportunities, including demonstrating the potential to work as an Extruder Operator in our facility.

Production Technician qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum 2-3 years in manufacturing / production (or similar role) is preferred;
  • Demonstrated background in continuous/high speed manufacturing; extrusion process preferred;
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Proven success in working with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to drive for results in a team atmosphere.
  • Troubleshooting skills, including root-cause analysis and resolution of machine issues;
  • Ability to drive the process to ensure production and quality targets are met on a daily basis;
  • Complete and enter work order notifications in SAP;
  • Maintain good housekeeping of work areas and plant;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills;
  • Maneuvering up to 50 pounds, as needed.
  • Forklift / loading experience a plus. All successful candidates must pass forklift lift training and become certified on the forklift during their introductory period.
