Production Supervisor

Location: Tiffin, Ohio – United States

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Key production position that coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties on 3rd Shift:

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and lead work efforts of other production associates and production processes.
  • Process appropriate paperwork and ensure proper documentation of manufacturing processes and training. Ensure technical competence on production line.
  • Implement a personal safety action plan and consistently display safe work habits.
  • Communicate and support company/division/plant objectives and goals.
  • Perform value-added daily huddles
  • Creating and sustaining a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management and talent evaluation
  • Effectively staffing the organization, providing competent people and the appropriate mix of internal and external talent to satisfy both near-term and long-term succession needs
  • Investing in the growth and development of individuals identified as high potential talent
  • Establishing clear and measurable expectations of performance and review commitments to ensure goals are achieved
  • Monitoring and enforcing plant policies in a consistent manner to ensure a positive labor environment
  • Maintaining documentation, tracking, counseling and executing coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur
  • Actively leading and building effective work teams and committees to increase plant performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Living the values and vision of the Company; establish an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communications, teamwork, and recognition
  • Facilitating process improvements through people deployment, productivity enhancements, high performance work teams and being a model for change

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelors Degree in business
  • Computer literacy: Kronos and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong leadership competencies
  • At least 3 years in a manufacturing environment with coaching and development responsibilities
  • Pass company drug screen and background check
  • Production Supervisors must also be willing to be trained to perform any job in the Production Department

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and procedure instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, co-workers, and management.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk around the plant; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, controls etc.; and reach with hands and arms; operate equipment or machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
