Description

The Pricing Controls Analyst is the process expert and audit analyst for the pricing operations team. The position is primarily responsible for the execution of continuous controls monitoring processes; ensuring consistent attainment of financial control for their business. This role is responsible for serving as a catalyst for continuous improvement, waste elimination, and productivity enhancement. The controls analyst is also responsible for providing analytical support to the commercial organization. This position works closely with the pricing operations, finance and sales organizations to ensure that all aspects of the pricing operations team are accurate in accrual, invoicing, and customer account adjustments. The Pricing Controls Analyst reports directly to the BMG Pricing Controls Team Leader.

Responsibilities

Grow financial value

  • Monitors and manages key customer accounts to ensure accurate financial impact is appropriately represented in OC’s financial records
  • Monitors buy and rebate programs to ensure that liabilities are not over or understated
  • Monitors price accuracy to ensure attainment of the price strategy of the business
  • Analyzes and monitors customer changes (customer reorgs, new customers, changes, etc) to ensure rebates are accruing for correct customers and amounts

Operate in a Financial Control Environment

  • Ensures proper compliance with the SOX order to invoice cycle requirements
  • Identifies deficiencies and opportunities in current processes and initiates resolutions across a variety of resources (people, process and technology) to enable process improvements
  • Ensures all closing activities are completed within required timeframe
  • Ensures customer program decisions are made within stated levels of authority

Know the business, customer and/or industry

  • Continuously grows understanding in the business segment that they support—e.g., the market, customer base, and strategies
  • Develops relationships with key partners inside and outside the organization
  • Knows what best-in-class service means
  • Translates organizational strategy into day-to-day priorities and action for the team
  • Provides pricing insight into each business’ specific market challenges
  • Provides options and recommendations on how to maximize service levels (pricing responsiveness and flexibility) at the lowest total operating cost
  • Develops and strengthens key relationships with supply chain, commercial finance, and commercial sales partners to ensure we achieve our service and financial objectives

Operating in a waste free environment

  • Effectively uses Lean Sigma methodology and tools to support a waste free environment
  • Identifies and takes action to eliminate non-value added activities within day to day operations
  • Ensures that standard work processes are followed and updated as changes are made

  • Actively participates in ongoing safety monitoring, training and discussions

Job Requirements

Experience

  • 3 – 5 yrs Finance, accounting, or related experience preferred
  • 2 – 3 years pricing operations experience preferred

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Pricing and Rebates Operations
  • Supply chain knowledge
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Six Sigma/Lean expertise preferred
  • Applying analytics to make decisions
  • Demonstrated advanced capability with Excel, Access, BW, SAP, and BI preferred
  • Ability to multi-task coupled with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
