Patternmaker

 

Outdoor Voices is looking for an experienced Patternmaker to join our team in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive creation of fully graded, technically innovative, basic, and fit critical model patterns.
  • Maintain the information in the product creation system and ensure that new patterns are wear tested as needed
  • Evaluate, create and implement standard grading rules to ensure consistency in fit and contribute actively in terms of fit/principle pattern guidelines
  • Develop accurate sample & production patterns based on sketches from the design department
  • Attend fittings for both sample and production garments and perform necessary corrections as a result of fitting notes/revisions

  • Work closely with design to establish standard fit by product category and end use to ensure product size and fit consistency
  • Collaborate with designers and product developers to establish and document product construction standards and illustrate technical specifications for the entire product line

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of apparel industry experience in product development and garment fit preferably in performance or technical apparel
  • Strong technical knowledge of performance product and body sizing
  • Understanding of relationship between pattern/material usage/yields during pattern creation as it relates to margins
  • Ability to draft digital and paper patterns
  • Experience sewing samples and mock ups from created patterns
  • Experience working on site with manufacturers
  • Strong technical construction knowledge for product manufacturing
  • Experience in building measurement and technical packages
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Adobe Illustrator, CAD - PLM software, Microsoft office applications and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of product creation calendar timeline and ability to work against deadlines
