Outbrain servers fleet consists of over 7000 physical servers and produces over 300 Billion personalized recommendations monthly, reaching over 800M unique users every month.

In the Observability team, the engineers are responsible for developing and managing the infrastructure for all of the logs (15TB/day), metrics (250 million/minute) and tracing systems for all of the hundreds of engineers and thousands of deployments required for serving.

 

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Monitoring & Observability team and take part in designing, building, implementing, and maintaining our super scalable & automated Observability infrastructure.

 

 A day in the life

  • Manage highly scalable infrastructure over kubernetes in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Design and develop next generation observability systems
  • Work with latest CNCF and opensource technologies
  • Work with complex distributed systems.
  •  

Our Tech Stack

Thanos, Prometheus, Go, Kubernetes, Python, K8s, Kafka, ELK, eBPF, GitOps environment, Java (...and more)

 

What you’ll bring

  • 4+ Years of proven industry experience in developing in one or more languages, such as Go, Python, Java, or similar.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Linux.
  • Good understanding of how Kuberenetes works (along with hands on experience), experience with helm - an advantage
  • Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with Prometheus/Thanos and/or ELK Stack - an advantage 
  • Familiar with Public clouds such as GCP, AWS, or Azure - an advantage
