Account Manager/Sales - Performance Marketers - UK

We are seeking an experienced account manager to work in our highly successful Performance Marketing team in the UK. This is a hybrid Account Management/Sales role, so the successful candidate will be an integral part of all functions of the Performance Marketing team, sitting within the larger UK commercial team. Performance marketers are a key customer segment for Outbrain in the UK. Driven by Cost-Per-Acquisition goals, their marketing activity is centred around showing a demonstrable ROI per campaign, in the form of sales, leads and other high-value actions. Clients such as Skyscanner, Capital One and HelloFresh are examples of brands that have been successful in utilising Outbrain as a channel for reaching and acquiring new customers and sales.

A blend of both the outreach and account management aspects of sales, the successful candidate will be able to onboard new performance clients and then work with them proactively to ensure they hit their conversion goals to become a long-term client of Outbrain. The successful applicant will be able to fulfil the following asks:

Campaign Management

  • Managing the operational day-to-day of Outbrain campaigns including setup, adding images & headline copy, adding tracking & analytics and ensuring successful delivery of ad inventory
  • Monitoring campaign performance, making optimisations to improve results and communicating changes to clients
  • Ensuring client success through proactive support of the client’s objectives to hit their conversion goals (CPA)
  • Mastery of Outbrain’s platform and internal tools to be able to make technical changes rapidly and effectively

Consulting

  • Delivering campaign insight and strategy for clients to truly understand the value of their Outbrain campaigns
  • Communicating with clients day-to-day by email and phone to offer strategic advice on optimisations to improve campaign performance
  • Working closely with clients to fully understand the goals and KPIs they wish to achieve and then ensuring Outbrain’s strategy and technical setup is aligned to these

Outreach

  • Partnering with sales to identify, outreach and convert new performance marketers in the UK
  • Leading the on-boarding process to give new client’s a grounding in Outbrain’s platform and set them up for success

Upselling

  • Navigating new clients from the test phase of Outbrain, through to a mature partnership where they are a continual “always-on” spender
  • Upselling current clients with additional Outbrain products such as Whitelisting, Retargeting, KPI Optimisation and B2B specific tools

Reporting & Insight

  • Providing daily, weekly and end-of-campaign reporting to clients to demonstrate the value of Outbrain’s products
  • Able to work across multiple reporting systems to uncover meaningful insights and present these in a consumable format

Excellent Collaborator

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and liaise across multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) to achieve objectives
  • A great communicator who can respond quickly in a fast-moving environment

Your first year should look like this:

In your first month, you should find your bearings, get to know your team, do a deep dive into our Amplify tools and train on them and start to build key relationships within Outbrain and with some existing performance clients

After three months, you’ll have mastered our technology and tools as well as building great relationships and trust with the Account Management & Sales team and clients

By the end of your first year, you’ll be an essential part of the UK performance team and the wider UK team, using your knowledge and expertise to identify potential performance buyers, sell the Outbrain solution to them and provide them with first class support to to help deliver successful campaigns.

To be successful, you will have:

  • 2-3 years experience in an account management, sales or a hybrid role – selling or supporting a digital solution
  • Experience in upselling to clients
  • Excel and analytics platform (such as Tableau) experience highly valued
  • An understanding of the digital marketing landscape
  • Great communication skills – over the phone, via email, in client meetings & presentations
