JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an opportunity to be part of the Accounting team at Optima Tax Relief with a dual role between Payroll and HR. As a Payroll Coordinator/HR Admin, you will be responsible for the following:
HR Duties
- Review Stratustime (Time & Attendance) around holidays/discretionary time
- Serve as Stratustime backup to managers to update time cards
- Run Reports via Stratustime and communicate with Management appropriately
- Track commission agreements and follow up with managers
- Assist with New Hire & Benefit Packets
- Unemployment Claims Paperwork
- Garnishment Paperwork
- Run reports around the 5-hour meal break period and send to managers
- HR Filing
Payroll Duties
- Double check all Tax Withholdings and Direct Deposits changes that go through ADP
- Confirm all salary changes
- Overall review of payroll and commission process
- Assist with Monthly Payroll Reporting
- Review Time Cards
- Maintenance of Carpool Program
- Assist with employee payroll related inquiries
- Distribution of Paychecks
Accounting Duties
- Check requests for adjustments and terminations.
- Data input in ADP
- Administrative filings
- Setting up deductions for employees
- Assist Sr. Payroll Specialist on special projects
- Payroll/ Accounting Filing
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years experience in a fast- paced corporate environment
- This role will be part of the HR team, but will report to the Accounting/Payroll team
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills
- Impeccable judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to apply Payroll principles and practices, and comprehend regulations and policies
- Ability to see the "big picture" and escalate cases accordingly
- Proficient and comfortable with office equipment (Computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, Gmail)
- Work schedule set by supervisor (Monday-Friday different shifts available between 7am-6pm)
