We are seeking a talented Data Warehouse Architect to join our technology team in Santa Ana, CA. This is a full-time position with a high growth organization!

We are seeking a Data Warehouse Architect who can build a data warehouse solution themselves; this is a doer position from the technical side. As a member of the Optima Financial Groups Data Office, the Data Architect is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for aligning and executing the future state of the Cloud Data Architecture with Data Management strategy. This role collaborates with solutions architects and subject matter experts from project management and IT areas. Must also be able to communicate effectively, including working with the BI team.

Essential Duties:
  • Must be able to build a data warehouse from scratch
  • Assist in the development and implementation in the areas of Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Governance, and Data Integration as part of Optimas Data Management Strategy
  • Conduct and advise on data product/platform reviews and evaluations, identify gaps and offer recommendations.
  • Work with key stakeholders across internal groups to develop and communicate the data vision and roadmap while adhering to established Data Management principles.
  • Manage expectations around data deliverables, define the definition of done and coordinate deployment and delivery with members of the Agile teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelors degree, or masters degree in Computer Science, or applicable field of study
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in data architecture principles, methods, techniques, and technologies
  • Hands-on with Cloud data warehouse technologies - Snowflake, Streamset, or similar.
  • Experience in Agile development methodology.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (especially AWS) and Hybrid Workloads experience with developing cloud data strategies, best practices, and standards.
  • Experience with modern data pipelines, data streaming, and using real-time analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance architectural theory with practical solutions
  • Expert-level technical understanding of data modeling, design, and architectural principals across master data, transaction data, and derived/analytic data
  • Expert-level knowledge of data management tools, including enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data quality tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools
  • Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, with a focus on enterprise-wide data architectures, data management, data governance, and data warehousing
  • Proven background of designing and implementing architecture which solves strategic and tactical business needs
  • Strong conceptual knowledge of roles and responsibilities within BI and Data Warehousing (DA, ETL, BI, DBA, SE, QA, and PM)
  • Expert knowledge and demonstrable experience with either Azure SQL Data Warehouse or Redshift
  • Experience using Machine Learning technologies in the areas of Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, etc.
  • Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to manage multiple projects and task concurrently.
  • Proficient in programming languages: PL/SQL, SQL.
  • Knowledge of C#, Tableau is a plus.
