Workplace Manager

Who you are:

  • Minimum 3, preferred 5-years Facilities Management experience required (please do not apply if you do not have this experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Report to and support Head of Commercial Real Estate & Workplace (based in San Francisco) as needed for various projects & tasks
  • Design and implement safety and security program
  • Knowledge of FLS systems and CPR certification desirable
  • Ensure employee happiness with their work environment, by providing 5-star service, especially in regards to office operations & maintenance
  • Space planning, including frequent seating rearrangements; prior move experience highly desirable
  • Oversee event planning and execution, including annual year-end holiday party
  • Manage vendors and contractors: upkeep of workstations, furniture, food program, employee supplies, FLS (fire life safety), MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), etc.
  • Act as primary liaison between Opendoor and building management (e.g. repairs, building code compliance, visitor services, COI, etc.)
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the office via vendor management and / or delegation to team
  • Collaborate with Opendoor employees on planning and coordinating activities and events (e.g. company parties, in-office events, etc.)
  • Light project management skills (e.g. furniture installation / densification, adding electrical)
  • Operate all programs within provided budget
  • Manage all safety, security and badging related programs
  • Strong background working with HR / People team in on and off-boarding procedures
  • Manage ticket system for operational effectiveness and reporting
  • Effectively cross collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners both internal and external

  • Good work habits and ability to manage time well
  • Responsible for solely managing and addressing facility breakdowns that can occur after work hours, weekends and holidays
  • Proven experience creating and operating within budget guidelines
  • Highly adaptable; comfortable with change and ambiguity; capable of quickly rallying teams and resources around key issues
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
  • Strong spatial skills with experience in the implementation of workplace strategies and the ability to translate business unit requirements into space strategy
  • Strong aptitude as it relates to construction schedules, facilities operations, technology, furniture, fixtures and equipment in the workplace
