We are looking for an excellent audit professional to join our rapidly growing Internal Audit Team in Kigali, Rwanda. As a young organization, we are ready to hand over significant responsibility for specific, well-defined strategic initiatives as well as day-to-day management of our team members. Your primary task will be to carry out the organization’s annual audit plan through audit design, staff hiring, and leadership development. You will ensure internal policies are adhered to in all departments and provide assurances of One Acre Fund’s internal controls to all internal and external stakeholders, and ultimately to our farmers.
Typical tasks will include:
Design and Document Specific Internal Audit Plans. The Internal Audit Associate is tasked with pushing the organization towards compliance with internal policy. This is will require well-researched and thought-out audit plans for each department or process. The plans will include standard tasks, check-in points and KPIs to track progress.
Managing Internal Audit Process and Developing Staff. The Internal Audit Associate will manage a team of auditors who interview department staff, review current policies and document compliance or non-compliance with set policies. Managing and developing the talent of the internal audit team will be your most important role. You will also collaborate closely across all departments to identify gaps in current policies and to target high-risk areas.
Disseminate Internal Audit Results to Stakeholders. The Internal Audit Associate will document and communicate all results from internal audit procedures, both confirmation of and gaps in compliance, to a multitude of parties. This will include department management, country directors and external auditors.

We are seeking an exceptional professional with 2-5+ years of work experience and a demonstrated passion for international development. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:
- CIA a major plus but not required.
- Leadership experience at work, or outside of work.
- Top-performing academic background.
- Work experience in an internal audit function.
- Experience developing and implementing an audit plan.
- Ability and drive to work independently.
- Management and mentorship experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

- Language: English required and French a plus.
Preferred Start Date
Starts modest. However, this is a career-track role with fast raises for performance, paying a meaningful salary for long-term placement in developing nations.
