Overview

Ogilvy is seeking a Senior Strategist to join the Los Angeles office. This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing marketing communication firms in the world. Today, Ogilvy employs over 15,000 people, in 450 offices, and is a member of the WPP family of companies. As a senior planner/strategist you are integral to your team. You run the "day to day" strategy with some guidance. Creative Teams look for you to help them identify provocative insights and write compelling briefs. Management knows you can be trusted to establish and substantiate a point of view. You present to clients with authority, "front" meetings and take ownership of projects and their outcomes. You know the basics and collaborate with other strategy disciplines (content, social, etc.) You run projects independently and your briefs get less oversight. Other planners and strategists go to you for advice. You are a critical component of the team – people count on you to add value to any strategic or creative conversation.

Responsibilities

  • Draft/write creative briefs, internal docs and presentations that establish clear strategy, collaborate on marketing plans, thought-leadership and POVs
  • Develop action plans for research: advising, designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative studies; analyzing tracking studies
  • Understand and analyze more sophisticated research programs (driver analysis, conjoint, regression analysis, etc.)
  • Collaborate and know how to "work the building" to deliver quality work
  • Write case studies and awards entries
  • Respond to and improve upon creative work in partnership with creative teams
  • Create positioning territories and Big IdeaL statements
  • Develop communications planning platform ideas
  • Contribute to/Creative channel strategies (mobile, broadcast, video, social, website, display, print, and more.)
  • Attend/Lead client meetings, where requested; active contributor and adviser
  • Ability to run/lead internal and client workshops
  • Understands the client business, prepare client deliverables and become a brand expert and trusted client adviser

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • 6-8 years experience, digital marketing and advertising agency experience
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing projects/campaigns independently
  • Expert ability to develop and promote relationships remotely (both internally and with clients)
  • Expert writing skills; You write decks with a good narrative
  • Impactful presentation skills
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Keynote
