Senior Project Manager

A day in the life of...

We are looking a Senior Project Manager/Producer with specialist print knowledge and integrated retail experience to join the WPP Delivery Team.

Joining an integrated 360 WPP delivery team leading production for Global Brands. The delivery team has a production remit for ATL advertising, loyalty, digital social, publishing and PR.

As a seamless efficient team, this position will be responsible for the print and digital output aligned to ATL campaigns. With strong digital support this person will be responsible for the consolidated creative briefs taking them from brief through to final delivery of assets with the speed of a retail client.

Working alongside the TV Production team this position will drive efficiencies and integration across the client account to ensure creative consistency, so an overall view of production is imperative.

As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to leading and driving best practice, helping shape and influence how the delivery 'engine' works, including brief classification, resourcing, mentoring and overseeing more junior PMs, AM/PMs and the studio team to ensure processes are followed, creative excellence is achieved and work is delivered in a profitable way.

Responsibilities

  • Determines production approach and drives art buying and production management on all discrete print campaigns
  • Updates the overall project plan for all productions and manages Production budgets for theirs and the PM team's campaigns
  • Attends and updates scrum meetings and provides status updates on projects.
  • Uses the client Team process with regards resource booking (TrafficLive) and Workflow management (FIDO)
  • Co-ordinates all output of assets to client and partner agencies
  • Supports Delivery Director to design and optimise the overall client production strategy
  • Owns and manages the production approach for 'always on' work, co-ordinating with the client and internal stakeholders, managing the productions and post production team, ensuring high quality low cost timely creative excellence

You are comfortable offering strategic project advice to senior members of the Account Team, but you are also comfortable making things happen, at speed. You can articulate the benefits to the client of doing the job right, rather than doing it right now. We can plan the plannable in order to accommodate the inevitable last minute briefs.

You are the driving force for all projects, getting work through the agency and ensuring the output is the very best it can be. You cultivate confidence both internally with all the different teams within Ogilvy, and with clients. Everyone knows that your projects are run smoothly, without fuss, and your input helps to improve our process.

You will do whatever it takes to delight our clients with great work and great delivery, whist ensuring you keep everyone on side and motivated to deliver great work. You ensure all resources are given everything they need to do their work, before they start work.

Communication

You understand that the success of any project relies on the right communication at the right time to the team and to the client. You proactively keep your team up to date and let them know what they need to next and by when.

Your status reports are always written in a forward looking, proactive style, showing next steps and all key dates, and you honestly report RAG for on-time and on-budget.

Your written and verbal communication is very strong, clear and concise and you avoid meaningless terms such as ASAP and TBC.

You set up and introduce all the briefing sessions and run great creative reviews that always get to a clear set of actions and next steps. You proactively follow up with an email summarising what's been agreed and check in with the planners and creatives to ensure they're on track.

Commerciality

You are proud to be commercial. You are interested in how we make money.

You ensure that you attend weekly finance meetings and build strong relationships with your CFC. You review and understand the forecasting on your account.

You ensure time is set aside to scope and cost properly, collaborating with SMEs and ensuring internal sign off before presentation.

You minimise write-offs by ensuring you know the scope inside and out. You make sure we charge properly for what we do, and can eloquently convey the value OGILVY offers to clients. You are able to write clear, concise scopes of work that convey value, not just hourly rates. You understand that we must sell the money as hard as we sell the work. Without the money (and the time), we can't always make the best work.
