Senior Digital Strategist, Greater China

Overview

Ogilvy Social is a global, cross-discipline team of digital & social experts from across all of Ogilvy’s businesses. We know there’s a new customer and stakeholder journey defined by the increasing impact our networks have on purchase decision and our behaviors. We design integrated social solutions that combine deep disciplines like CRM, advertising, paid media, public relations and shopper marketing and rooted in behavioural drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of global and regional social & digital strategy for clients in China and Hong Kong
• Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients on everything social & digital
• Social business program planning and strategy development
• Identify opportunities to enhance our clients’ businesses and grow our own revenue with existing and new clients
• Manage and grow capabilities of direct and indirect team members as appropriate. This position will likely have four to five direct reports.
• Contribute to cross-discipline social media team, spanning advertising, direct marketing, public relations and shopper marketing
• Management of a team to carry out online research and insights work through social media monitoring and desk research
• Campaign oversight in the areas of content activation, influencer identification, influencer outreach and paid social

• Drive measurement of campaign effectiveness using a variety of social media analytics tools
• Contribute to building the agency’s thought leader position through blogging, speaking at events and leading webinars across the region
• Manage financials in relation to the team you oversee

Qualifications

• Have extensive knowledge and experience in developing and executing strategy & content for popular and emerging China social media platforms
• Extensive experience in planning and executing WeChat strategy, experiences and campaigns
• Have excellent Mandarin & English communication skills – verbal and written
• Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong academic record
• Think critically and creatively, meaning the ability to think clearly and rationally, solve problems and develop new and useful possibilities
• Plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
• Work calmly and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced work environment
• Collaborate with colleagues in different countries and appreciate cultural differences
• Understand current and emerging media platforms and their usage from a consumer and business perspective
• Understand how to drive conversations and online word of mouth
• Be passionate about social media and digital marketing
• Have digital & content production experience
