Senior Analyst

Job Summary

Senior Analysts have the same role as

Analysts but with more experience and autonomy. They are part mathematician,

part author and part mentor who are expected to provide media research and performance

insights in support of the media/search teams. Three major facets to their role

include:

  • Finding and sorting information quickly and

efficiently

  • Presenting information in a manner that is

both easy for a lay-person to understand and statistically sound

  • Helping others use data effectively by

guiding them to ask the right questions

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior directors (Media, Analytics

etc) with various analytic projects for media and search departments as well as

clients

  • Retrieve raw research data and synthesize

it into usable forms for media team usage

  • Assist media team in running numerous

insights reports, i.e. Response analyses, cost analysis

  • Help maintain a performance platform and

provide on-going recommendations around media optimization (reallocation of

media dollars across different media partners, tactics etc)

  • Assist in original research and the writing

of reports

  • On-going client-facing responsibilities

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years experience in similar/applicable

position or marketing research-orientated degree

  • Strong analytical orientation
  • Good writing and verbal communication

skills (including presentation skills)

  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills (sorting

data, pivot tables, advanced functions)

  • Additional desirable skills include web

design/application coding experience, statistics background (SPSS/SAS

training), experience with online research sources

  • Digital Media experience/background
  • Experience with Doubleclick DART, Atlas and

Omniture

  • Basic statistical aptitude
  • Knowledge of media tools including MRI,

Netratings, Comscore, Stradegy, Nielsen Monitor+ and Microsoft Access
