FKH - Sr Acct Exec/Acct Supervisor - Emerging Biotech

The Senior Account Executive will join our team working with emerging biotech clients, helping to support day-to-day management and execution of communications activities. FKH represents a diverse array of clients and supports them in a wide variety of activities ranging from communications strategy development, messaging, branding, financial communications, crisis communications, internal communications, advocacy communications, etc. This individual will join a team to service innovative early- and commercial-stage biotechnology companies.

The successful candidate must be able to juggle multiple assignments and clients with a high degree of success and independence. The candidate must have strong writing, editing and proofing skills. The candidate must show strict attention to detail, be highly organized, proactive and inspire confidence among peers and clients. S/he will also enjoy working in a smart, dynamic, entrepreneurial, client-focused, team-oriented environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

§ Manage projects and events in a collaborative, cross-office environment

§ Conceptualize program strategies and implement tactics

§ Manage day-to-day client account work, including writing various communications materials (i.e.: press releases, fact sheets, media backgrounders, program recommendations, web content.)

§ Provide media relations recommendations and conduct outreach

§ Operate independently and yet demonstrate strong team/collaboration skills

§ Act as liaison between client, outside partners/vendors and internal teams

§ Monitor and manage client budgets and the financial performance of individual client relationships

§ Ability to interface with clients independently as needed

Required Skills, Knowledge, Must Haves, and Experience of the “A” Player:

§ Minimum of 6+ years of communications experience in a communications/public relations firm or life sciences organization required (agency/client services or consulting experience preferred)

§ A passion and interest in B2B communications

§ Experience in communicating and “translating” complex scientific and technical information, business to business communications experience

§ Understanding and knowledge of life sciences industry and all aspects of drug discovery and development

§ Strong overall grasp of the communications function including writing press releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, web content, newsletters, marketing communications materials, media relations, etc.

§ Exceptional writing, editing, and presenting skills

§ Hands on experience and knowledge using social media

§ Strong project management experience

§ Ability to monitor and manage client’s budgets and the team’s financial performance

§ Ability to delegate and manage work of junior staff

Education (degrees, technical training, etc.):

§ Bachelor’s degree in communications, life sciences or related degree required

Technical Expertise (systems, sciences, technologies, etc.):

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required

Work Conditions (Travel requirements, etc.):

§ Some travel (<10%)
