Director of Diversity and Inclusion

Overview

The mission of Ogilvy's Diversity & Inclusion group is to advance Ogilvy's commitment to respecting & valuing diversity. The team delivers on this mission by serving as a resource and liaison for all employees on issues of equality through education, outreach, and advocacy. This group is dedicated to:

  • Improving multicultural, first generation, LGBT, and women's experiences in the workplace
  • Promoting employee retention, sponsorship, and professional achievement
  • Building a pipeline of diverse talent
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to create a safe, supportive and empowering community for all

The Director of Diversity & Inclusion will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop & implement programs aimed at creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

This Director must be well versed in facilitating strategic workshops and developing training sessions for all levels. The Director should possess a passion for and/or experience working in diversity & inclusion and experience working with Fortune 500 companies and top brands.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and facilitating workshops – strategy, development & implementation (e.g. Gender Dialogues, Train-the-Trainer, Unconscious Bias, etc.)
  • Gender Dialogues to take place across North America
  • Developing and managing transformative change programs (e.g. the30 for 30 Women's Sponsorship Program) & diversity training programs from initial inception to content development, implementation, and delivery
  • Strategically adapting and developing retention programs
  • Creating strategic communication plans to express the vision for all programs
  • Implementing measurement guidelines to demonstrate goals are being met
  • Managing existing diversity training programs currently
  • Coaching senior leaders on D&I best practices and interfacing with HR and management teams to resolve issues
  • Positioning Ogilvy positively within the industry in regards to reputation, recognition, and achievement
  • Identifying new D&I partnership opportunities, pitching benefits to internal stakeholders and leaders
  • Creating employee engagement plans to increase Professional Network (PN) participation, reputation, and to identify PN ambassadors
  • Developing strategies to help Ogilvy employees connect, communicate and collaborate in ways that remove traditional barriers
  • Providing counsel, guidance and support to partners in building a more diverse pipeline
  • Representing Ogilvy at D&I events and public relations functions
  • Conducting an end of year review of all partnerships, to determine if Ogilvy is receiving the best corporate value
  • Developing recommendations for future partnerships or areas of improvement within Ogilvy & beyond

Long-term goal:

  • Make Ogilvy the gold standard in Diversity & Inclusion. Create programs that exemplify diversity across business units and put Ogilvy on the map from a Diversity standpoint.

Qualifications

  • Be a strong communicator, a good listener, a hard worker, a team player, organized & detail oriented, flexible, and genuine
  • Have the ability to formulate and implement strategies
  • Demonstrate an appreciation for the talents and hard work of others
  • Make sound decisions based on both logic and intuition while remaining objective
  • Have 10 years of work experience in Management Consulting, Change Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources or Human Capital Strategy
  • Have experience collaborating with senior leaders and influencers (e.g. external partners, internal teams, and public relations experts)
  • Possess strong presentation skills and experience working in Keynote, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
