Creative Recruiter

Role Overview:

As a Creative Recruiter, you make the right connections,

placing creative talent across different groups within in the agency. You are

highly attuned to aesthetics, can spot industry trends, understand people, and

know the genuine thrill that comes from making a perfect match.

Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the Creative

Recruiter is responsible for building strong relationships with the creative

department, following up on employee referrals, proactively sourcing top

talent, and maintaining a strategic recruiting pipeline for both freelance and

full-time positions. You are a versatile people person, as adept at pep talks

as you are at closing deals.

If you’re like other Creative Recruiters, you come from an

agency or creative background. You already have a keen eye for talent, so

assessing creative portfolios to provide constructive feedback comes naturally

to you. You can easily switch gears from recruiting for a salaried position

that starts in a few weeks to finding the perfect freelancer for a gig that

begins tomorrow morning… or even later today.


  • Utilize numerous networking tools to develop and

grow a candidate talent base for creative hires and interim staffing solutions

  • Source candidates using our internal database, portfolio

sites, social networking sites, job boards, portfolio school events, etc.

  • Participate in networking organizations and

industry events

  • Partner closely with Creative Resource team to

ensure all hiring gaps are closed

  • Proactively builds pipelines of diverse talent

related to current openings and potential new business initiatives

  • Assist in relocation and immigration cases
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors


  • 5+ years of experience in recruiting with heavy

emphasis on the creative industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong network in the Chicago ad industry with

a history of attending industry-sponsored events

  • Extremely organized when it comes to both information

and time management

  • A knack for details and for prioritizing

responsibilities—essential when you’re working on roles across numerous skillsets


  • Excellent relationship management skills.

Ability to interface with senior hiring leaders

  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws and

practices (i.e. OFCCP, AA, EEO)

  • Full-cycle recruitment experience in a

fast-paced advertising agency environment: from initial reach-out through

negotiations and offer stages

  • Ability to discern creative skills in candidates

throughout all steps of the recruitment process
