Copywriter

Overview

The Ogilvy Washington team is looking for a Copywriter who excels in producing creative communications and coming up with big ideas. The ideal candidate understands the dynamics involved in communicating across all channels—from creative copy for print and digital advertising, video, social media properties or a combination of all three. The Copywriter will assist in creating highly visible integrated brand and content marketing programs designed to drive word of mouth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the perfect, strategic brand voice for multiple clients on a variety of channels
  • Plan monthly editorial calendars and write content marketing copy
  • Work with creative and strategy teams on concept development for ongoing and seasonal campaigns
  • Create persuasive messages, tell compelling stories that generate brand loyalty in consumers
  • Participate in brainstorms and provide innovative ideas relative to digital landscape and trends

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years copywriting experience turning strategy into compelling content
  • Expertise in writing for all digital mediums including websites, apps, social channels, email and video
  • Knowledge of SEO and tagging best practices on popular social platforms
  • Exceptional and flexible writing and editing skills; you think and communicate clearly in all media
  • Familiarity working with a diverse range of clients—consumer brands preferred
  • Enthusiasm to communicate your vision and insights to both colleagues and clients
  • Deep knowledge of popular and digital culture from theory to real, personal experiences
  • Knowledge of disciplines including: branding, marketing, UX, game design, social/behavioral psychology, anthropology, business, social engineering or anything else that is crucial when developing smart, realistic and compelling ideas
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
  • BA/BS required
