Overview
As Associate Strategy Director, your primary responsibility is to inspire great creative work that lives up to the bar we have set for this agency and of our clients. In DAVID, this means taking client information, problems, challenges and distilling them into succinct actionable briefs for the agency to activate upon while also bringing appropriate stimuli, insights and learnings to spur the creative process. And then acting as an appropriate editor of those ideas before they are shown outside. For our clients, this means inspiring confidence in the ideas we propose through your demonstrated knowledge of their business, their problems, their consumers and within culture so as to move forward with the agency’s point of view. This position has the additional role of mentor to the more junior team members. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to develop their skills as well as your own.
Responsibilities
Development of brand strategies, writing creative briefs, guiding development and presentation of the creative work.
Design and implementation of research projects to address client business issues, gain insight into target audiences and testing ad concepts.
Partner with other account leads to guide our most senior clients towards bold and innovative solutions.
Demonstrate an analysis of category, brand, cultural and people trends that highlights opportunities for clients’ businesses.
Partner with creative, production, and account to create innovative strategies and groundbreaking output.
Translate strategic discoveries into inspiring briefs and roadmaps for our clients.
Qualifications
At least 6-8 years experience in brand strategy in an agency environment, CPG or QSR experience preferred.
Familiarity with most forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge.
Demonstrated talent for abstract thinking, spotting trends and patterns, an innate curiosity and insight into human behavior, an instinct for popular culture, and a nuanced understanding of creative work are critical.
The ability to work across different groups and disciplines is key to their success, as is their judgment in pushing the work, elevating the ambition of a brand, and leading the client’s thinking about the potential of their business.

Demonstrated ability to teach other, more junior level planners.
