Account Manager - Social
Ogilvy Public Relations is seeking a social media-savvy
communications professional to join the London Ogilvy PR office as an Account
Manager on our [email protected] team, working for a major financial services
brand. This is a great opportunity to showcase your project management,
creative, and analytical capabilities by managing an ongoing editorial content
development programme for social media as well as supporting senior clients as
part of a high-level social media consultancy programme. The ideal candidate is
passionate about social media and word of mouth marketing, and thrives in a
fast-paced, creative environment.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for the timely and on-budget
delivery of best-in-class social media content, acting as the main point of content
for global and local market clients, as well as a rolling reporting programme.
This role requires strong account and project management skills, experience
working across results-driven, global social media projects and a strong
understanding of integrated marketing communications principles and the role of
social media within those. In addition, you will be required to assist with
one-off projects for this and other Ogilvy clients, which may include social
media contests, partnerships, influencer relations programmes and high-level
social business initiatives within clients' organisations. You will be
supported by one Account Executive and will report to an Account Director.
You would be skilled at interacting with clients, evaluating client
requirements and developing a comprehensive social strategy built upon strong
research and insight, social content creation, incorporating social media
outreach, search visibility, effective and innovative engagement solutions, and
You are an active and engaged social media user with previous
experience in executing social media programmes, either agency-side or
in-house. You will have a proven record in managing projects on time and on
budget, and an understanding of what makes good content.
This individual will:
- Be responsible for the
successful execution of global and local social media projects for a major
financial services brand from the planning and creative stage through to
implementation and measurement.
- Be experienced in people
management – delegation, managing complex to-do lists and giving feedback, as
well as managing upwards by keeping senior team members up-to-date
- Work closely with clients
and account teams to apply insights from research into developing social media
- Employ a variety of
research techniques to understand and analyze online data and provide insight
about relevant online conversations and voices in those conversations
- Oversee preparation of
reports summarizing the effectiveness of social media strategies
- Identify and reach out to
key social media influencers
- Project management
dedicated to the strategic execution of ongoing conversation management of a
social media brand presence
- Understand our clients'
brand values and identities and apply this understanding to the development of
content ideas and assets that are relevant to them and their audiences
- Have strong project
management experience and the ability to use project management tools.
- Manage projects by
working alongside our internal team (social analysts, creative & content
strategists and senior account leadership), manage relationship with external
agencies (creative, media buying, content production, event planning etc.) and
with the multiple stakeholders client-side.
- Be able for managing all
financial aspects of a project: from development of statements of work to
delivering on budget.
- Be able to successfully
manage client relationships day-to-day and under high-pressure situations.
- Have strong understanding
of social tools (Radian6, Gorkana, Social Bakers, Buddy Media, SpredFast and
- Be a great networker
- Have specific social
platform experience, notably Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and LinkedIn
as well as measurement platforms, such as Radian6 and/or Sysomos.
- Understand best practice
and thought leadership in Social Media.
- Be able to project manage
and prioritise mutli-client demands.
- Strive for innovation in
content creation by taking an active interest in trends in lifestyle,
influencers and social media
