Account Director- Corporate Practice

Ogilvy PR/Chicago is seeking an Account Director preferably with experience working with financial clients to help manage and execute strategic public relations programs in the corporate practice. Work with a close-knit team of PR professionals in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment for a top10 Public Relations firm. Serve as main contact on large accounts and play a strong supporting role in new business efforts. Independently develop and manage projects/programs, including implementing plans, on deadline and on budget. Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day support on multiple accounts

Draft client-facing materials such as presentations, messaging, recommendations and news releases

Provide leadership in developing and presenting new business programs for potential and existing clients

Manage staff to maximize productivity and individual, team and financial performance

Financial administration and management of projects

New business support

Consistently identify and pursue opportunities for enhancing personal involvement and contributions to accounts, team and agency

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years PR agency work experience

Previous experience working on financial accounts highly preferred

Public Relations Agency or combination of in-house and Agency experience

Top-tier media relations experience

Issues and crisis management experience

Media relations strategy

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Strong research and analytical critical thinking skills

Entrepreneurial approach to work

Superior organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail

Seasoned client leadership and counseling skills

Team-oriented, ability to manage and mentor teams
