2017 New York Associates Program
We’re aiming to build a company of giants. We’re not looking for giant egos, only giant thinkers.
We’re looking for graduating seniors of all majors with a demonstrated passion for marketing communications, a willingness to learn and the desire to be part of something different.
The Associates Program
Ogilvy Associates will learn the craft of client service and its function in the marketing communications industry. You will have the opportunity to explore critical areas of Ogilvy during the 12 month rotational program.
Before applying, you will be asked to choose a track – Account Management or Strategy. You will rotate twice in your chosen track and once in the opposite track and each rotation will last 4 months.
Account vs. Strategy
Account Management – Account teams act as the liaison between the client and internal team. They serve as the linchpin of the agency and ensure that all projects run smoothly and efficiently. While focused on client relationships, account managers wear many hats and no two days are alike. Account managers are required to be strategic thinkers and have a full understanding of their clients’ business.
Strategy – Strategy is a broad category inclusive of Brand Planning, Analytics, CRM, Content Marketing, Consulting and more. Strategy is heavily focused on research and strategists are often tasked with aligning client’s objectives with consumer needs.
How to Apply
You must be a graduating college senior to apply to the 2017 Associates Program which begins in September 2017.
The application deadline is January 16, 2017.

2. Two letters of reference (educational or professional)
3. Writing exercise – answers to both of the following prompts in 500 words or less (each)
Prompt 1: Little pigs, French hens, a family of bears. Blind mice, musketeers, the Fates. Parts of an atom, laws of thought, a guideline for composition. Omne trium perfectum? Create your own group of threes and describe why and how they fit together.
Prompt 2: As the marketing industry evolves, more and more companies are emerging. What keeps Ogilvy relevant and why do you want to work here?
