  • Manage multiple investigators in a diverse 24/7 environment
  • Provide coaching to investigators on professional development
  • Serve as an on-call escalations manager for Trust and Safety related incidents
  • Conduct special investigations and after action analysis of what happened and why
  • Track multiple simultaneous and concurrent investigations for results and trends
  • Manage and track special project assignments
  • Serve as a POC for Crisis Management Team incidents
  • Work with T&S Management to develop and implement internal policies, procedures and workflows
  • Perform regular Quality Assurance monitoring and reporting on investigation case work
  • Manage complex special investigations with due diligence and attention to detail
  • Represent OfferUp in court proceedings if called as a witness
  • Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through
  • Works with peers and management to suggest policy improvements and tools
  • Help identify new technology and changes to existing technology to help streamline our Trust and Safety efforts
  • Be Proactive! Continually look for areas that need work and are being overlooked
  • Stay on top of current on developing offline crime trends

Desired Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years experience in investigations, Trust and Safety or Law Enforcement
  • Passion and experience for safety and trust in a marketplace; you want to improve the experience of OfferUp
  • Experience in responding to organizational crisis incidents
  • Experience and understanding of BCP, and COOP, and Incident Command Systems (ICS) processes
  • Demonstrated team management experience
  • Prior law enforcement experience or criminal investigation experience
  • Experienced in conducting sensitive and confidential investigations and intelligence gathering using online resources
  • Proficient in Mac operating system
  • You thrive in a fast paced startup environment
  • You have great judgment, and able to make impactful decisions independently
  • Excellent communicator of data; you are able to tailor your explanation of user behavior to various types of people
  • Demonstrate examples of creating safety procedures and policies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills· Excellent investigative, critical thinking and customer service skills
  • You are an articulate and confident self-starter and problem solver, who is frequently able to deal with ambiguity

  • 7-10 years experience in an investigations, trust and safety, law enforcement, or retail loss prevention
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience
  • Team player with a positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience in FTEP as an FTO or similar direct coaching and feedback training concepts is strongly preferred
  • Experience in government or law enforcement investigations is strongly preferred
  • Experience with cyber crime investigations
  • Experience working with an online marketplace
  • Experience with data-mining investigation techniques
  • Prior experience with Zendesk is strongly desired
  • Expense with organized retail crime investigations
  • Experience with exception based reporting
