Senior Asset Manager

Main purpose of this role

The Senior Asset Manager will be expected to ensure that O3b maximizes the revenue potential of the O3b fleet through optimisation of the capacity and market pricing.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

Capacity Inventory Management

  • Maintain and further develop Beam Loading Diagram tooling to monitor the allocation and management of satellite capacity on the O3b fleet. Communicate the availability of capacity on the fleet to the rest of the O3b team and the potential reassignment options that may exist
  • As part of the Pre-Sales process, advise on capacity availability and flag potential capacity contention
  • Assign satellite capacity to support O3b services, work with Sales Engineering to ensure data integrity of capacity allocation database

Fleet optimisation

  • On a quarterly basis, based on the beam yield optimization efforts described below, optimise the configuration of the satellite constellation to maximize revenue and value for O3b and its shareholders. Coordinate the analysis and collaborate with System Architecture and Sales Engineering based on commercial request of PxQ approach
  • Coordination with Sales Engineers, Sales Directors and Account Managers on Capacity Assignment issues, working particularly closely with Sales Engineers to define solutions to transponder loading issues on a deal-by-deal basis
  • Maximize available capacity through careful capacity allocation and re-grooming activities, including capacity planning and allocation in case extension of satellite constellation

Optimize beam yield and fleet revenue performance with regional SVP’s and commercial managers

  • Provide overview of fleet revenue performance. Present beam yield performance overview to internal stakeholders
  • On a quarterly basis, update bandwidth pricing approach to maximize yield per satellite per beam per capacity deal (based on PxQ performance model)
  • On a quarterly basis, develop and manage internal regionalized space segment rate card in collaboration with Market Intelligence, Product Line Management and regional SVPs to support regional commercial managers in their deal-to-deal pricing

Education & experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in asset management, capacity management, engineering or closely related role
  • Experience in a commercial environment

Skills:

  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills through regular interaction with customers, partners, global sales and executive management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages are advantageous
  • Requires strong business acumen, a thorough understanding of the satellite communications technology and possess strong people influencing skills
