Sales Manager Indonesia

Main purpose of this role

The Sales Manager Indonesia will work together with the Director, Business Development in order to identify, develop, close and manage business opportunities within the designated region. The Sales Manager Indonesia will directly influence and close major deals with leading telecom operators, mobile operators, ISPs and government entities in Indonesia (primary) and other South East Asian countries. Moreover, the individual will be able to support any other sales activity in the region as directed by the Director, Business Development respectively.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

  • Responsible for identifying, developing, closing and managing new business opportunities in Indonesia and other South East Asian countries
  • Account manage existing customers in relation to growing share of wallet and maintaining revenue
  • Develop and manage a high level network of executives within mobile network operators, telcos, ISPs and telco infrastructure companies and maintain a good knowledge of regional market, industry trends, and competitors
  • Play a pivotal role in key high strategic value; high revenue deals in the satellite industry and backhaul projects in general
  • Assist in achieving landing rights in Indonesia
  • Understand the value of 'complex sales' and be able to sell across every level to a diverse customer base
  • Play a key role in constructing 'go-to-market' strategies in the satellite sector with demonstrable experience of direct and indirect selling
  • Should keep abreast of the latest regulatory changes that might affect the business in Indonesia and ability to lobby the regulator for suggestions on major policies
  • Ability to forecast accurately on new sales and revenue from Indonesia

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree; engineering or technical or appropriate business qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling complex satellite / fibre backhaul services to telecom carriers, mobile operators, ISPs and government entities in Indonesia (primary) and other South East Asian countries
  • Exceeding sales goals, closing skills, territory management, prospecting skills, negotiation, presentation skills, client relationships
  • Experience in managing, maintaining and executing activities within large key accounts
  • Experience selling products or services in a solution based environment
  • Experience in working and coordinating with multiple teams within one's own organization
  • Must have high-level contacts within targeted telecom and mobile operators and service providers, oil & gas operators, maritime companies and Government entities in Indonesia (primarily) and other South East Asian countries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia are essential
  • Keen sense of cultural sensitivity is required
