Sales Engineer, APAC

Main purpose of this role

The Sales Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for prospective and existing customers. The Sales Engineer is an integral member of the regional sales team providing support in all aspects of developing and implementing technical solutions for customer's service requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

  • Prospect pre-qualification with direct interface with customer's/ prospect's engineers
  • Develop optimized technical service solutions and prepare technical proposals in support of informal sales requests and formal RFPs
  • Perform engineering analysis to determine how service can be offered and optimized
  • Prepare and present customer presentations
  • Provide customers O3b services and product training
  • Organize customer service tests
  • Support Marketing Department as technical authors when required (Case study prep, etc.)
  • Represent O3b at trade shows and industry conferences
  • Work with customers to help them grow their business with O3b by identifying new applications which can be supported and service expansions which can be contracted
  • Tracks and understands new satellite access schemes, wireless and network technologies, systems and applications and understands their use with the O3b system to support end-to-end customer service applications
  • Recommend to customers new technologies being developed for use with the O3b system which can better serve their needs
  • Provide feedback to Product Development, and Engineering on what customers need to grow their business in terms of follow- on satellite architectures, new product types, ground terminal developments, service costs, beam placements, and O3b customer service support

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor in engineering/computer science
  • Excellent/Good command of MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Knowledge of English is essential. Additional languages are desirable
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar Pre-Sales role
  • Knowledge of satellite transmission analysis and optimization
  • Knowledge of satellite access technologies and earth station components
  • Hands on knowledge of the design and architecture of Mobile networks, fibre backbone networks , and Internet access networks
  • Regional market experience and business cultural awareness
