Product Line Manager, Terminals

Main Purpose of This Role

The Product Line Manager, Terminals will lead the development, positioning and ongoing product management of O3b’s terminal product line including antennas, RF and modems. The role is a key role in the company and the successful candidate will have exposure to internal and external product, technical and marketing experts.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

  • Manage the lifecycle of O3b’s existing portfolio of terminals and lead the on-going development of new terminals
  • Work with Engineering, Sales and Marketing on developing requirements, specifications and marketing launch material for new terminal development projects
  • Manage the product development process and lifecycle from the concept phase to the post-launch and analysis phase
  • Work with Marketing do develop value propositions and marketing collateral.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors and partners
  • Gather and analyse feedback from sales, marketing, operations and partners/prospects to set the strategic vision for existing products and development of new products
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on the terminal product strategy
  • Overall responsibility for product change management to ensure all service releases, revisions, and upgrades are quality tested, incorporated and communicated to customers
  • Other duties as assigned or required


  • US Citizen, Green Card holder or US Permanent Resident


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering required


  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
  • Strong public speaking skills, ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Strong analytical and process skills
  • Strong project management skills

Specific Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, product development or sales engineering
  • Strong technical background in satellite terminal technologies including antennas, RF, modems and IP networking
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of satellite network design
  • Possess a strong knowledge of and relationships with key technical and commercial contacts at vendors within the satellite communications industry
  • Experience with NPI processes, product roadmaps and product life-cycle management
  • Experience with sales and marketing process and introducing new products within an organization including the training of sales and marketing groups


  • Ability to interact with customers to gather requirements and to promote O3b’s products
  • Ability to work independently and build effective interpersonal relationships inside and outside of the organization

Other requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
