Product Line Manager, Network Services

Main purpose of this role

Network Services PLM is the technical and marketing subject matter expert with regards to O3b Network Services Products. By being the Interfacing between Sales + Marketing and Engineering + Operations he/she drives new product developments from inception to initial deployment through the PLC in an efficient manner. He/she is further responsible for the creation of all pre-sales collateral around products, solutions offered by O3b in order to empower the sales teams to confidently sell the value of O3b network services

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

  • Act as the technical and marketing subject matter expert, thoroughly understanding technologies, products, features, functions, and their benefits to the customers’ business as well as to O3b
  • Interface between Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and Operations regarding current and new products, identifying any issues or challenges and escalating where required to Director Network Services PLM
  • Creation of marketing, sales and training collateral around products, solutions, and technologies offered by O3b.
  • Team up with Customers, O3b Account Managers, Sales Engineers, Engineering and Operational teams to create and document scalable and repeatable solutions to customer challenges
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with other O3b teams and partners to maximize marketing and sales efforts and success rate by driving product introduction and sales velocity
  • Where needed train customers, partners and O3b team members round O3b technologies and products
  • Other ad-hoc duties or projects, as required by the Line Manager


  • US Citizen, Green Card holder/US Permanent Resident

Qualification & Experience

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline preferred
  • 3-6 years in a technical customer facing role with engineering and or marketing interaction (solutions architect, systems engineer, sales engineer, consultant etc)

Other Key Requirements

  • Expert understanding of Carrier IP Networking (BGP Peering, CDN Networks, Caching, Analytics, Con-tent filters, Application Firewalls, Optimization etc.)
  • Expert understanding of General IP (IGP’s, QoS/CoS etc.) and MPLS (Control-plane as well as service constructs like VPLS, VPWS, IPVPN’s etc.)
  • Expert understanding of MEF Carrier Ethernet technologies and services
  • Very Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Very Strong marketing and sales content creation and presentation skill
  • Strong Training skills
  • Strong Understanding of product and project lifecycles and lifecycle management
  • Advanced Knowledge of SDN constructs and technologies (Openflow, Netconf/YANG, Orchestration etc.)
  • Advanced Knowledge of Network Virtualization Technologies (NFV) (Openstack, Containers vs VM’s, Hypervisors etc.)
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency concepts (Microwave, Satellite etc.)
  • Knowledge of Mobile Backhaul technologies (3G and 4G/LTE)Willing to travel internationally and meet directly with clients
  • Ability to work effectively in a global high energy multicultural team
