Network Architect

Main Purpose of This Role

The main purpose of this role is to evolve and build a word class global transport network. Our customers include ISPS, MNOs and enterprises who each require the highest level of confidence in our IP network. The Network Architect will be continually charged with improving the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure to meet the highest availability standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

  • Assist the Lead Architect in the design, deployment and management required to establish a global service provider network
  • Perform design validation and optimization of network infrastructure
  • Act as tier 4 support for the escalation of issues from the Network Operations Center
  • Troubleshoot critical performance and stability issues in a timely fashion
  • Deploy solutions that improve network visibility and performance management
  • Generate and maintain appropriate documentation for internal and external consumption on all aspects of the network infrastructure
  • Facilitate the gathering of customer requirments in order to design robust network solutions
  • Provide consulting and overlay Sales Engineering support for Network Services
  • Validating customer complex configurations
  • Working closely with Regional Service Leaders to define managed service operational readiness
  • Work with customers to establish strategic network improvements within their networks to drive more bandwidth adoption and improved end customer experience
  • Improve network monitoring tools and visibility for the operational teams, including writing requirements, system design, documentation, writing test plans, managing vendors and transition to Operations team

Requirements

  • US Citizen, Green Card holder or US Permanent Resident

Education/Degree:

  • BS/MA degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or related fields
  • CCIE, CCDE, JNCIE, MEF and/or ONF OCSE industry certifications

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent Level in Routing, Switching, Multicast, Wireless, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, QOS, and Data Center
  • Excellent Level in various Network Design Principles and Product Design Models
  • Excellent Level in Security, firewall design, IPS/IDP, VPN, forensic, Ethical Hacking
  • Excellent Level in TCP/IP protocol, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, HTTPS, SMTP, etc.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Networking and Data Communication
  • 3+ years of experience in Service Provider Network Environment, preferabley in a Network Architect role
  • Experience in Juniper Routers and Switches
  • Experience in System Administration using Windows, Linux
  • Experience in Network Analysis
  • Experience in Network Automation tools
  • Experience in Satellite Communication
