About Our Controllership Chapter



We are producing reliable and traceable accounting and finance information, supporting the company's growth through a robust, reliable and scalable process with a focus on data and analytics. We are responsible for bringing together all of Nubank's financial data, monitoring it, making sure that everything is accounted for in our systems. We are also in charge of all the regulatory and financial reports, cash management and financial operations for Nubank.

We are looking for a Controllership Business Unit Control Analyst who has:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Professional experience of 4+ years working in financial institutions with products such as Credit Card.

  • Experience building reports regarding Nu Mexico’s product portfolio, financial insights for internal forums and support on building the local Financial Statements.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including SOFIPO framework, CINIF’s NIFs and IFRS.

  • Relevant experience preparing product accounting journal entries, accounting conciliations, monthly accounting reports, as well as creating internal controls, among others.

  • Demonstrated experience with preparation and review of CNBV accounting regulatory reports.

  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance of product accounting and regulatory reporting.

  • Ability to tackle complex problems involving a number of topics/variables, such as business, regulatory, operations and product features.

  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills and able to communicate well with different stakeholders.

  • Solid analytical background and data-driven mindset. Must be comfortable manipulating big and small datasets to make decisions (SQL knowledge is desirable).

  • Advanced use of Excel and Google suite.

  • SAP experience preferred.

  • Advanced English level. Must be comfortable with oral and written communication.



As a Controllership Business Unit Control Analyst, you'll be expected to:



  • Analyze and understand how product works in the Mexican market, as well as their respective regulation.

  • Analyze the financial events and data structure of new products and features and its impacts on accounting, taxes and regulation in order to determine their journal entries, according to accounting and regulatory frameworks.

  • Research and analyze technical accounting matters, including the assessment of the impact of new accounting regulation and pronouncements, to ensure the product’s accounting is in compliance with the applicable standards.

  • Manage cross-functional initiatives regarding accounting, reporting and systems-related partnering Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders, from Mexico and other countries where Nu operates.

  • Review journal entries for monthly accounting closing purposes, performing reconciliations and automations.

  • Build reports regarding Nu Mexico’s product portfolio, financial insights for internal forums and support on building the local Financial Statements.

  • Attend internal and external audits regarding product accounting and regulatory reports.

  • Work with the Analytics Engineers and Finance Platform analysts collaborating with specification, design, and implementation of data architecture for building solutions, improving and automatizing processes and controls for Controllership.

  • Produce and maintain proper documentation of product and regulatory reporting definitions.

  • Proactively identified automation opportunities and worked to implement the solutions designed.
