We are currently seeking a Network Infrastructure SME to join our team in Falls Church, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
Job Duties: - Innovate and support an infrastructure that allows data traffic to flow between the data centers, field sites, headquarters, and customer sites. - Interface with service providers to maintain connections between routers, firewalls, IDS, etc. and the local area networks; support equipment and cabling up to the service providers frame room and associated equipment - Conduct physical inspections of equipment to verify the power state, error condition of equipment, and other general onsite technical assistance required for diagnosing problems - Replace LAN/WAN hardware components and prepare shipment of such items for repair or restocking using common carrier accounts - Report observed errors and anomalies and escalate as needed - Perform problem and maintenance log-tracking; record observed errors/issues and support activities - Provide communication networking services, including maintaining all servers and end point systems including hardware and software, configuration management, load balancing, security management, performance metrics, and upgrades/updates to both software and hardware in enabling: • Voice Over IP (VoIP) services • Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services • IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and Video Streaming services - Provide general network services, including maintaining and managing all network equipment, including Local Area Network (LAN) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (Routers, switches, etc.) - Provide cable/fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting and management support, install patch panels and conduit; running and/or blowing cable/fiber through conduit; installing and terminating all types of standard IT cable and fiber; extending cable connections (copper and fiber) between switches, routers and terminal user end devices, conduct cable/fiber troubleshooting, cable/fiber management, and documentation, and facility installation/management Must Have Skills/Years Experience: 1. Network Infrastructure Implementation and Support / Expert 2. Network Communications Implementation and Support / Expert 3. Project Management / Skilled 4. 6-8 years of relevant experience 5. Undergraduate Degree or equivalency Desired Skills 1. ITIL / Skilled 2. ITSM / Skilled 3. Project Management / Expert
