NTT DATA's Client is currently seeking a API Architect to join their team in Irving, TX.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Impact the engineering\operation function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services and hands-on Development.
- Responsible for migration to Apigee on Prem from IBM API Connect, Drive Integration.
- Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap.
- Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements.
- Recommend product customization for system integration.
- Work directly with clients/partner application teams to drive rollout of tools, educate teams, and assist with adoption.
- Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes.
- Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services.
- Experience in API Products like APIGEE in designing API facades, and designing and implementing API Proxies, and Developer portal.
- Experience in securing APIs using Oauth, SAML, Open ID Connect and etc.
- Good knowledge on design principles and best practices in implementing REST APIs.
- Experience working with and writing Swagger definitions.
- Good knowledge on API publication methods e.g. API Products, versioning.

Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of IT experience
- 5+ years as an API Architect (with API governance skills, Apigee Edge Gateway and preferably IBM APIC Connect expertise)
- 5+ years of experience in designing and developing high volume web services using API Protocols and Data Formats (REST, JSON, SOAP & XML).
- 5+ years with API Modelling languages and annotation (YAML, Swagger, RAML)
- 5+ years with message transformation languages like JavaScript, XSLT, and Java
