PhD Principal Scientist / Lab Head, Oncology
- Cambridge, MA
Job Description
The Oncology Innovative Targets & Technologies (IT&T) group is laser-focused on discovering the next wave of novel therapeutic targets. Our team represents the first step in the quest to bring new medicines to oncology patients. However, our job does not end when we discover and validate new targets-we now have to figure out how to drug them, creating a foundation on which to build a world-class drug discovery program.
We are looking for an exceptional scientist to join our team and help establish a topnotch, next-generation path to drug discovery effort in Oncology.
Using a combination of target-specific, mechanistic cellular assays coupled with deep mutational scanning approaches, the successful candidate will partner with experts in proteomics, structural biology, protein sciences, molecular modeling and drug discovery to accelerate the time from target discovery to drug discovery, catalyzing our ability to help cancer patients.
We are searching for an investigator passionate about asking fundamental questions about mechanisms of protein regulation, exploring structure/function relationships in disease-associated proteins and who is inspired to exploit this knowledge for therapeutic benefit. The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven record of high-caliber laboratory research. This position will require outstanding technical ability at the bench, including deep molecular characterization, genetic screening and cell-based mechanistic experimentation as well as a proven ability to effectively manage a team and/or collaborative interactions across a multidisciplinary team.
