BD&L is one of the key functions in Sandoz US for portfolio growth with direct impact on net sales each year from new deals and per year from existing partnerships. The Associate Director, BD&L is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential strategic business partners, acquisition targets and new licensing opportunities. He/she assess market conditions and researches other company strategies and culture to advance the business. Identify trends and strategic opportunities. This position is based out of Princeton, NJ.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Lead negotiations with partners and also lead the internal cross-functional teams.
•Identify new licensing opportunities and seek potential partners for them, negotiate term sheets and prepare business cases and present business cases to senior management.
•Lead due-diligence team and ensure compliance/QA review is performed. Develop and seek approval for new business development opportunities.
•Organize and delegate implementation of program, process and report improvements or additions. Interface with higher-level managers in various functions within the company to ensure that the function is anticipating and meeting internal and external needs and structured to produce effective strategies/reports.
•Responsible for implementing operational and strategic policies and directives. Develop functional processes for area managed. Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs.
•Ensure timely closure of CARs including ROI/CFROI assessment of the projects.
•Work independently to close BD&L deals and support local M&A activities where applicable.

What you'll bring to the role:
• Strong academic background (Minimum of a BSc., MBA preferred or equivalent degree and/or qualified accountant) with 7+ years' experience in Generics Pharmaceutical industry. Experience in Business Development is essential.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve results.
•Experience should encompass more than one functional area (e.g. product development, regulatory affairs, product management, marketing, business development, finance, etc.).
•Understand the basics of generics pharmaceutical forecasting and competitive dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry. Understand the basics of financial analysis and product P&L modeling.
•Negotiate commitments and timelines from internal and external parties Good knowledge of legal matters related to licensing contracts
