Northrop Grumman is seeking aLinux / UNIXSystems Administrator 4for the operations and maintenance of Air Force server infrastructure, hosting mission-critical and business-essential enterprise applications and associated components with our growing team at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. The primary mission for this position will be to assure increasingly reliable and efficient production operations of server infrastructure and the related business applications.

Critical success factors for this position will be associated technical skills and experience in Red Hat Linux and Solaris UNIX operating systems, team work and partnering, continual learning, driving transformation in server operation capabilities, demonstrating versatility solving problems and leading through change.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily maintenance and monitoring to assure server availability, performance and capacity; response and resolution to incidents; implementation of server changes and maintenance of associated standards and operational procedure documentation.
  • Provide input on design and build specifications of proposed new server and application infrastructure.
  • Conduct quality assessment and operational transition procedures to accept and operationalize newly built server infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures, engineering drawings and other technical documentation for accuracy of operational capabilities and knowledge across the team.
  • Analyze technology requirements and specifications to determine compatibility with server and infrastructure standards.
  • Assist in the design andimplementation ofserver infrastructure changes as needed to address system performance and capacity needs.
  • Ensure system maintenance activities are routinely executed to remain compliant with standards, infrastructure currency policies and to prevent system problems.
  • Participate in the implementation or change of server infrastructure in accordance with change management policy.
  • Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution to avoid or reduce impact of an incident or outage.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor™s degree and 10+ years of Linux/UNIX administration experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED with 14+ years of related experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the following software:RedHat Linux 6.x and/or Oracle Solaris 11, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss.
  • Proficiency in the UNIX/Linux based utility service, programs, networking and storage systems.
  • Experience writing automation scripts in one or more of the following types:Bash, Python, Perl, or C.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for base access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Active (or 90 day recent) CAC.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience working with Oracle SPARC hardware and Veritas NetBackup.
  • Experience working within a DoD environment and applying Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
