Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Tool Die Maker 3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

Lays out, fabricates, and assembles metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications. Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Computes dimensions; determines machining and material or parts required. Performs precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommends revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solves problems relating to unusual materials, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma and/or GED plus four years of related experience. Must have tool die experience. Must have a manufacturing background. Must be able to understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions.
  • Ability to communicate over ambient noise level
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of atmospheric conditions
  • Able to wear respirator or other safety gear
  • Ability to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces


Preferred Qualifications: Machine shop experience is desired. A work history involving software troubleshooting is a plus. Waterjet experience is preferred as well. Laser tracking experience is desired.
