Test Pilot 4
Support vehicle design reviews, modeling and simulation reviews, laboratory system testing to ensure vehicle design is safe and effective from an aircrew perspective. Perform flight manual development meetings, watch item reviews, conduct simulator training and mission rehearsal training. Support technical and safety planning, mission planning, test card reviews, test technique development, and test plan reviews. Contribute to defining operating limitations, "what-if" documents, test hazard analysis (THAs) and test readiness reviews. Participate in flight test readiness reviews, pre and post-test briefings, post-test data evaluation and discrepancy resolution and document pilot reports, squawks and deficiency reports (DRs). Promotes aviation safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in flight test operations. Overtime, odd shifts and weekend work will occasionally be required.
This position requires temporary assignment to Melbourne, Florida for about 18-24 months then transition to Palmdale, California
Bachelor's Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Math
Operational flight experience in a military aircraft system.
Must be able to pass FAA Class II physical as a condition of employment
Commercial Single and Multi-Engine Land pilot license and instrument flight rating
Military Test Pilot School graduate.
Minimum of 1,500 hours First Pilot or Primary flight time. Test pilot experience
Secret Clearance required to start (in scope within 5 years), Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)
Physical ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions
Ability to identify sequence of operations or action to be taken
Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.
Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours
Master's Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Math
Recent test experience in Advanced
Top Secret Clearance
