Test Engineer 2

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking a Test Engineer 2 to be an instrumental part of Northrop Grumman's Test Engineering Team at our Charlottesville campus. The Test Engineer will work independently
or as part of a team to design test consoles (containing multi-application stimulus and measurement equipment), electro/mechanical Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), cables, and all associated documentation in support of test for a variety of subassemblies and systems. This Engineer will be responsible for integration of test hardware and software with production Units Under Test (UUTs). Additional responsibilities include developing system test plans; writing detailed test procedures; performing system level testing and troubleshooting; creating and resolving discrepancy reports; generating test reports, and providing support to development engineers and Manufacturing Test Technicians.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and execute testing to validate functionality in all phases of testing, including functional, performance and regression ensuring developed hardware meets defined specifications
Document test anomalies and actively support the investigation and resolution of all anomalies
Design and debug test fixtures and test set
Develop test code
Test improvements and optimization
Participate in continuous process improvement efforts in test coverage and test effectiveness
Participate in stand-up meetings with a collaborative team as part of an agile process
Basic Qualifications:
-BS Degree in Engineering, or other STEM-related degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience - OR - a MS degree in areas described above with 0 years' experience.
-The ability to read and interpret test specifications, schematics and block diagrams
-Experience with the following test equipment: scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator and network analyzer
-Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
-Inertial Navigation knowledge
-Test integration background
-PWB design and layout
-VME Bus operation, control and design
-Software skills to include experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, National Instruments Test Stand, MATLAB, AMAX
-PXI instrumentation
-AutoCAD
