Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aPayload Test Conductorto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California, with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Ensure engineering tests serve mission objectives and mechanisms are in place to execute the tests
  • Responsible for testing all customer samples
  • Oversee the operational aspects of engineering tests and serves as liaison to program, engineering and line management
  • Review status of test requirements, manage schedules and prepare reports
  • Select and supervise technicians during tests
  • Assess anomalies and develop resolutions to documented procedures in conjunction with Test and Quality Engineering
  • Lead the calibration and validation efforts for the entire Payload Test Suite, which includes 52 bays of test equipment, and supporting floor activities during integration and formal testing of the payload
  • Leadthe test plan development of both the payloadand Payload Test Set Suite Architecture
  • Update and/or generate test plans, evaluate requirements, generate test procedures

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a STEM field with 9 years of related Integration and Test (I&T)experience, or 7 years with a MS
  • Extensive knowledge of Payload architecture and operations

  • Knowledge of common RF Devices and Instrumentation such as: Oscillators, waveguides, couplers, mixers, filters, amplifiers,network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and spectrum analyzers

  • Experience troubleshooting anomalous hardware, understanding of S-parameter data

  • Ability to operate RF equipment both manually and remotely via software

  • Basic Programming Skills: Python, C, Matlab, and Excel
  • Basic Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing
  • Must have technical writing experience
  • Active SCI clearance required to start

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong I&T experience desired
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent technical writing skills
  • Ability to operate in a large Integration and Test environment
