Technical Writer 2 or 3

The job of the Technical Writer is to perform the preparation, review and revision of technical documents for software and systems engineering, system operation system configuration, and user documentation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and update current documentation to support a government services program.
  • Will work in close coordination between the system engineers, operations, training, configuration, testing and evaluation, and the management team to assist in development and updating of the program documentation including operating Manual, training, process and directives documentation as well as other technical documentation as required.
  • Ensure that the currency of the documentation keeps pace with hardware and software releases and that all documentation reflects the current operation configuration.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, a background in technical writing, and experience with technical documentation and formatting.
  • Will provide technical writing and editing support in a manner consistent with DoD and DXC practices.

Basic Qualifications:

BQs for a Technical Writer 2 are...

  • 3 Years with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters, OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph within the last 5 years

BQs for a Technical Writer 3 are…

  • 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters, OR 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph within the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8570 (Security ) may be required
