Technical Services Project Manager 5

Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking an experienced Technical Services Project Manager 5 to join our team in support of Redondo Beach, California. The ideal candidate will be a passionate project manager with proven skills and experience in managing and delivering complex projects in a challenging environment. This position will require the project manager to perform advanced project management tasks from inception to close-out.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team.
Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment.
Keeps current on advances in the field of IT.
Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts
Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and effect the image of the organization technological capability
Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline and 14 years of experience
Ability to interact with very demanding customers in a dynamic changing environment
Strong self-starter with quick uptake and tenacious desire to succeed
Solid PM skills and experience as a strong executor with a proven track record of getting the job done
Ability to discern the environmental and organizational landscape
Capable of identifying adjacent areas of customer needs and opportunities
Understanding of agile methodology and concepts
Experience with financial forecasting and exposure to earned value
Strategic understanding of the technology spectrum
Expert skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Project (scheduling)
Detail oriented with the ability to meticulously document strategy as well as tactical information
U.S. Citizen with Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Master's degree in a STEM related discipline
Candidates with Top Secret/SCI Clearance will be given priority
