Technical Editor and Writer 2/3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a versatile technical editor and Writer 2/3 with graphic design and CBT experience to join the Northrop Grumman team, located in Boulder & Aurora, Colorado. The successful candidate writes, rewrites, edits, and formats technical documents such as technical orders, training material, standard operating procedures, and test procedures, to clearly and effectively communicate technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. The candidate will acquire subject knowledge by interviewing subject matter experts and program-level individuals, as well as conducting quality review of materials and documentation. This position also requires an individual who can design original graphics to enhance technical documentation and training products, ranging from small PowerPoint illustrations to posters, to interactive courseware (CBT).

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a current Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 0 years of experience; 6 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional personal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to adhere to internal processes, and standards for quality and style.
  • Must possess experience in Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must possess a familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Captivate.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; 9 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional personal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to adhere to internal processes, and standards for quality and style.
  • Must possess experience in Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must possess a familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Captivate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Satellite Ground Systems Processing
  • Background in development of Proposals for new government work
  • Background in the development of Corporate products and presentations
  • Experience writing and developing training courseware for a DoD customer.
  • Captivate design and authoring experience.
  • Fluency in Adobe Photoshop, Captivate, and Acrobat.
