Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The Launcher Systems Engineering Test group is seeking a talented Systems Test Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals to support underwater missile launching systems in development and currently deployed launcher systems.
The successful candidate will support current and future system testing for launcher programs for developmental and currently deployed launcher systems and maintain the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Perform functional analysis, scheduling analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation/verification and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into test requirements and test plans. Perform activities for system integration, installation, test, operation, maintenance and disposal. Develop test system architecture, develop test plans and procedures, execute testing in accordance with these plans and procedures, and communicate test results. Travel is occasional, consisting of visits to customer for technical reviews, meetings for test planning, and test conduct. Travel may increase in frequency as system test activity increases during actual test events

Work location will be Sunnyvale, CA or Annapolis, MD


Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a closely related technical discipline preferred.
-Five or more years of experience with Bachelor's degree or three years of experience with a Master's degree.
-Strong fundamentals in systems engineering, integration, and testing, including development and implementation of test plans and procedures and requirement verification.
-Experience in development/management of: CONOPs, system design, system architecture, proposals, and requirements
-Experience with testing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and optical systems.
-Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
-Strong commitment, collaborative approach, and demonstrated strategic big picture thinking.
-Demonstrated sound decision making and good judgments.
-Strong oral and written skills.
-Ability to work well in a team.
-Proficient with MS Office.
-Must be a U.S. citizen with current DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
-Previous engineering experience with Military and/or related Defense systems.
-Working knowledge of DoD Systems Engineering Principles
